BH250-96
Title
BH250-96
Subject
Pink Granite
Description
Major Minerals: orthoclase, quartz
Minor Minerals: chlorite, oxides, perthite, microcline, zircon, monazite
Mineralogy Comments: perthitic
Optics/Texture: plagioclase feldspar show sign of defromation with a kink texture, quartz shows strong andulouse (wavy extitions). Some of the biotite show green pleochroism. Greenish pleochroism often reflects intermediate composition, with moderate Fe³⁺/Mg²⁺ ratios.
