BH250-206b
Title
BH250-206b
Subject
Ijolite
Description
Major Minerals: augite (clinopyroxene), titanoaugite (clinopyroxene), hypersthine (orthopyroxene), plagioclase
Minor Mineral: biotite, sphene (titanite), oxides
Optical Features and Texture: Hypersthene exhibits faint pleochroism, while clinopyroxene display anomalous interference colors. The rock shows a characteristic subophitic texture, in which larger plagioclase crystals partially to completely enclose smaller pyroxene grains.
