BH250-128h

Title

BH250-128h

Subject

Galena Limestone

Description

BH250-128h is a fossiliferous sample of Galena Limestone collected near Sogn in Goodhue County, southeastern Minnesota. The limestone contains abundant evidence of marine life, including rugose corals and numerous burrows produced by organisms living within or moving through the seafloor sediment. These fossils and trace fossils indicate deposition in a shallow marine environment with an active benthic community. The sample preserves both skeletal material and bioturbation, making it useful for studying the marine environments represented by the Galena Limestone.
